It is not “How To” the right way, it is about your way. Whatever is your personal interest- journalling, memoires, fiction, nonfiction, poetry or prose- it is about the passion and the “Get to it” motivation. With lots of sharing, we will talk about the how, why and what. We will discuss styles and strategies. We will look at different options that are available to keep those words we capture. And yes, we will definitely write the right way: light, easy, fun, inspiring and motivating, with like-minded folk.

5 sessions- Monday afternoons 1:30-4:00 beginning February 9th (no class Family Day)
All courses will be held at Falstaff Family Centre, 35 Waterloo St N, Stratford Class sizes are capped at 16 participants

Writing is a life-long passion for me. There is not a day when you wouldn’t find me with a pen in hand, scribbling something down. Yes, a pen – confirming that Yes,I am a Senior – a Senior who is so happy to get to live in the era of Spell Check and an online Thesaurus. Best of all is the easy and inexpensive array of options available to preserve our words for generations to come. Generations who may not appreciate or even be able to decipher our cursive.
I believe that our words are the most precious gift that we leave behind, the last window into our hearts and minds and proof that YES, we were here. We have something to say – whether it is for others or just for ourselves. Be it therapeutic, creative or documentation, it is time that we get to spend with ourselves and that in itself has great benefits.
After encouraging my aunt to write, I published her story which is a treasure to our whole family. She was delighted to ‘be an author at 98’. That led to the publication of three more books – anthologies of stories of parents – two volumes of ‘My Mother’s Keeper’ and ‘Our Fathers’.
I am looking forward to getting together with others who love the written word – it will be inspiring, motivating and fun.
