Our Mission
To promote healthy, active, vibrant aging through interactive learning opportunities for seniors.
Our History
The initiative has been in the works since 2024 with a dedicated steering committee under the leadership of Dr. Jean Hewitt and Ev Scott working diligently to bring this vision to fruition. The committee’s efforts culminated in the launch of four courses scheduled for Spring 2025, each designed to cater to the diverse interests and learning needs of seniors in the community. The mailing list of 40 has grown to almost 300 in 2026.
The launch of S3AL in Stratford represents a significant addition to this network, offering local seniors a new avenue to engage in meaningful educational activities. By focusing on active learning, the new organization aims to enhance cognitive function, foster social connections, and contribute to the overall well-being of seniors in the community.
