Do you have a favourite piece of music; one that you keep going back to? It doesn’t matter whether it’s classic or pop, old or new, or whether other people like it or not, as long as it’s special to you. Come and share it, tell us something about it and why you like it. This course is all about our relationship with music, sounds that stay with us, long after other memories fade. Time: Thursdays from 9:30-11:45pm
Dates: April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8
Location: Falstaff Family Centre, 35 Waterloo St, Stratford.
Leader: Nancy Stotts-Jones
“I have loved music since I was a little child when Beethoven was my first love. I am a flautist with the Stratford Concert Band and a singer with the Grand Philharmonic Choir (Kitchener). I also play in the pit for The Community Players in New Hamburg (come see Matilda in May!). I studied Music as an undergraduate at UWO (now Western University) where I fell in love with Early Music and I know that it doesn’t require a level of expertise to appreciate, intuitively, what you’re hearing. In this course, I hope to help you refine your listening skills so that you may be able to enjoy what you listen to even more deeply”.
