…Without even having to audition! Each week, participants in this course will take turns reading out scenes from plays of various periods, and we’ll discuss them together. You’ve never wanted to act? The very idea terrifies you? Don’t worry: there’s no pressure to “perform” in these easy-going sessions, just an opportunity to have some fun finding out what it’s like to “speak the speech,” as Hamlet says—and maybe learning one or two things about the theatre along the way.
ABOUT DAVID
David was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He came to Canada after university and settled in Kingston. As well as winning awards as a theatre critic, David was Editor of the Whig Standard in Kingston. Since moving to Stratford, he has worked closely with the Stratford Festival Theatre. He continues to keep keen eye on what’s happening in the news.
