“In 2000, my father’s diagnosis of Vascular Dementia was the trigger that led me into looking closely at how the brain ages. Most of my career in Education had been spent focussing on how children and adolescents grow brain as they develop. To watch the reverse process taking place in a loved began a new journey for me. I have spent the last twenty years learning about how we age from published papers, observing my own aging processes, and working with various research projects, most recently, the SuperAgers study out of the Universities of Chicago and Western. Now in my 85th year, I am happy to share what I have learned.”
